Choosing a crypto payment gateway for WooCommerce.
There are dozens of crypto plugins for WooCommerce. Five questions sort them quickly — and tell you whether a simple USDC checkout like StableCart is enough for your shop.
1. Who holds the money?
Some gateways collect the payment into their own account and pay you later. Others let the buyer pay your wallet directly. If the gateway holds the money, it can also hold it back. StableCart never touches the funds: the buyer's transaction goes straight to your address.
2. What does each sale cost?
Most processors charge a percentage per transaction — for example, BitPay lists 2% + 25¢ below $500,000 a month and NOWPayments lists 1%. A flat price wins once your volume grows. StableCart is free for 20 paid orders a month and $12 per 30 days after that, with no percentage.
3. Which coins do your buyers actually use?
Supporting hundreds of coins sounds good, but each one is another way for a buyer to pick the wrong network. If your buyers pay in dollars, one stablecoin on one cheap network is simpler for everyone. StableCart takes USDC on Base only.
4. How does a payment find its order?
Gateways either create a new address per order or quote a unique amount. StableCart quotes each order a unique amount, such as 25.000173 USDC, and still matches late payments for 24 hours after the quote expires, so a slow buyer does not turn into a support ticket.
5. What does setup need?
Many gateways need an account, API keys and a verification process before the first sale. StableCart needs one field: the wallet address that should receive payments. It works with the WooCommerce block checkout and High-Performance Order Storage.
When you need something else
If you must receive local currency in a bank account, or your buyers pay in Bitcoin and other coins, a custodial multi-coin processor fits better. You can also run both side by side as separate payment methods.

Can I test it before going live?
Yes. Install it, paste your address, and pay a small test order from any wallet. The order completes by itself once the payment confirms.
What happens after 20 orders on the free plan?
New checkouts pause until the next calendar month, or until you buy Pro for $12 per 30 days in the plugin settings. Pro is not a recurring subscription.
